Trip to Malaysia

That was how crowded Jurong East Interchange was during early morning, approximately 6.45 AM. Being a spoiled brat, this was a new sight. LOL, anyway, the trip I went was called a Durian Trip.

So we were expecting lots of durians during this trip.... Soon you'll be seeing a fatty pose with some durians so be mentally prepared, or physically if you have to.

The coach took ages to reach. During that interminably dreadful period of waiting I was aching to go back home. Finally the ironically named "Superior Tours" coach reached. How wonderful~

I hardly took any pictures when I was having breakfast and all because I was too tired to be entertained into taking pictures... until we reached the durian farm at Tangkak.

Surprisingly the entrance to the durian farm is unnamed, i.e. there was no signboard at all, perhaps even uncharted in the maps...

We encountered rubber trees! See the latex~

And...... the durians we've been expecting!

When we came into the farm there was a durian buffet where the hospitable durian cutters started cracking up uatomatically to open the durians for us.

I ate very little of the durians because they weren't refrigerated. I prefer refrigerated durians as it's more refreshing LOL. But however refreshing durians are, they are still heaty, we still had to eat some mangosteens for cooling.

I indulged in some noodles instead.

And... many veteran durian eaters should know of the legendary superstition (or fact) of the correct method of washing your hands after eating durians, very interesting.

Some act-cute photographs my family has taken with the cute durians:

It started to drizzle a little so we had to depart for other destinations.

Dad sudoku-ing in the coach when there was nothing to do.

Proceeded to Malaysia's native food product shop called Yoyo in Yong Peng, to buy some of the delicious foods there. I came across these two different products:

What's the difference arh? Husband biscuit and wife biscuit?

And finally, we went to AEON Shopping Centre in Bukit Indah, which includes the very famous Jusco. Didn't go to Jusco though, I just went to Mini Toons and purchased this hehehehhehe... There goes a stroke in my about me page!

Don't remind me of the crooked eyes LOLOL

With my other collections

Started to get very hungry so we filled our hungers for dinner at Restoran Asli.

Goodness I can't believe these kids hold the live crabs so easily with great dexterity, although they did it for fun. I wouldn't even dare to touch it (see, spoiled brat me)... LOL

Just before we were about to leave for Singapore from the restaurant, I saw these bunch of kids running along the bridge so carefreely... They really were so innocent and so gleeful, my goodness, makes me wonder why life in Singapore can't be as slack as that... :(

This trip has been a very pleasant one except for one bad experience with an old man who was on the same coach with us. We stopped by a petrol station along the expressway to visit the washrooms. While they went to the washrooms first I went to buy some of the local newspapers first.

When I went to the washroom, the male toilet door was closed so I thought it was vacant - God knows when I pushed the door this old man was doing his small business inside. He scolded me in some Hokkien phrases, pushed the door back. After a few minutes, he came out and continued scolding me =_=

I didn't rebut because I thought it could've been my fault since the lock could've spoiled. When I went into the washroom, the lock was intact! =_=

Anyway, I LOVE MY HUGE DORAEMON :3:3

I promise!

Before I allow myself to indulge in sloth of not updating my blog...

I shall promise I will update it with pictures I took in my trip to Malaysia by Tuesday!

So if I happen to not fulfill my promise with invalid excuses, please curse me to death.

Recently the school's been busy catching up with the syllabus and all - including planning for the CEP (Character Education Programme) Skit.

LOL it was painstaking to complete the script, painless to see many people impressed by my script, but painful to see most of my classmates trying to avoid being in the cast.

I find it really distasteful because these people don't want to act due to fear of possible embarrassment.

But that would only happen if they act reservedly instead of acting dedicatedly.
Like what Mr Koh mentioned, if you can act wholeheartedly your role, no one would relate your true self to the personality you portrayed in the skit. If anyone laughs at you, you have probably a better reason to laugh at him - immaturity.

I have to apologize if anyone of you happens to be unhappy as I moved people from backstage into cast, but that's because no one volunteered to act - and with only my personality acumen I had to "arrow" (sabotage, as how they see it) people whom I think are suitable to act.

And no, telling you to act bitchy doesn't mean that in Jeremy Teng's mind, you are bitchy.

Misunderstandings and misunderstandings, how wonderful!

After all, you're only acting.

First day of school (Warning: wordy post)

Slept at about 4.30 AM a few hours before school, how wonderful...

Till now, I don't understand anything about titration at all. I was dozing off at watching the interminably long videos of washing the pipette and burette O_O Furthermore, I didn't understand any of the concept. I was wondering if it was my problem - I being too tired to process anything through my brain.

Nevermind, I shall read up about it tomorrow (nonexistent).

When I came to school, I just realized I was supposed to receive an SMS regarding on the canceled functions involving major gatherings (since MOE prohibited it in the face of H1N1) of the AYG. The SMS also talked about a new timetable uploaded to the Net - and how wonderful, one irresponsible brat screwed up the message relay system - so many didn't receive it.

So that basically meant I didn't bring the necessary materials for the day. How wonderful!

At morning, my body registered a high temperature of 37.7 degrees Celsius on my thermometer which I bought from Watsons. And wow, the temperature was still running. But as I got down to confirm my body temperature with an aural thermometer, it registered 36.3. LOL Jasmine has the same thermometer as mine and got a high temperature too - probably it's Watsons, oops.

Today all the teachers complained to our class about students complaining to the school about too much homework... It's like, all of them just suddenly thought of this issue at the middle of each lesson LOL. And we were told the Principal brought up this issue during the staff meeting.

So now teachers are required to keep track of homework given to each class.

I don't really know if this is good. But personally, I have no grudges with teachers giving too much homework because it's their job and we can't do much to interfere.

Our Class Mentor started the day by introducing lots of new rules implemented into the school, most of which snatched away most of our privileges such as staying in classrooms during recess et cetera. Oh, c'est la vie~

The school mentioned their intentions on lowering major gatherings in school, which included staggering recesses. But apparently the amount of people entering the canteen is just as high as the amount before... What's the use then?

In my opinion, all these efforts the school make to decrease close contact between students are quite futile because a school is always a school - a place where students gather and have fun and study together. There's no way to slow down the virus spread just with such insignificant measures, especially the advice of keeping a distance of one metre away from your friends.

Okay so everyone let's start keeping a metre distance away from each other, and we'll be having lessons in AYE.

Soon teachers started talking about the results of IP Survey regarding on the quality of lessons in school... Teachers can never ever get anymore sensitive with the results they obtain from these surveys. They will make revolutionary and radical changes on the way they conduct lessons according to these results.

Just because of 5% of the class disagreed that our teacher enforces strict discipline, she made it a point to be extremely strict from then onwards...

She was also devastated at how one of her students made a written comment of her being scary sometimes as she enforces discipline during her lessons. ROFLMAO

Our school was one of the 45 schools to be selected for the torch relay of the Asian Youth Games. So basically we were just yay-ing and woohoo-ing and clapping when the runners holding the torch ran past our classrooms... How exciting :)

I don't know why but recently with the end of the Beijing Olympics (to be honest I find it EXTREMELY overrated internationally), there have been lots and lots and lots of Olympics-related event. I can now coin a phrase with the word Olympics and perhaps I'll make it big.

Yay let's have Doraelympics, only for Doraemon-mutants. :D

P.S. I will be talking about my Malaysia trip soon, do check out!

School reopens as usual

To be honest I don't see the sense in reopening school while many people who has gone overseas recently would have to take an LOA (Leave of Absence) of seven days.

These people are going to miss seven days worth of lessons. Although schools may update them about lessons through the Internet, what else can be better than going to school to understand better the things you learn?

And with these people absent, there will be surely lots of problem in communication, affecting the efficiency of schools.

Is the Asian Youth Games really so much more important than public health? Singapore should place its utmost concern on its citizens amid the high risk of people contracting the H1N1 virus, not on the AYG.

Dedicated to Regine (No, I'm not forced to say so)

Regine has been a big fan of my blog so I guess I have to thank her for tagging my blog on a regular basis. Haha, thanks Regine!

H1N1 virus is taking its toll on Singapore. As of June 20, 2009, there were already 126 cases of H1N1, including a few cases signaling the start of community spread. But the Ministry of Education feels it is still not necessary to extend the holidays so that the virus can be contained.

H1N1 virus has also spread in a church in Singapore, so I don't see why a school wouldn't be a better place for flu spread. Even if the school enforces temperature taking, the virus would've been spread before the exercise.

In school there is a wider range of people who might have gone to lots of different countries, as compared to a church. These people may come to school contracted with H1N1, and tadah - schoolwide pandemic.

H1N1 feels like the common flu, for people like me I'm forced to think that my flu symptoms might have been triggered by my existing sinus - I don't even know if I should consult a doctor now LOL!

MOE should consider extending the June holidays, perhaps at the expense of the September holidays if the virus is already fully abolished by then. To make this more effective, the Government may pass down advisories or even official restrictions to prohibit unnecessary departure to affected countries with high number of H1N1 cases.

In my opinion, the September holidays are just one period where homework piles up at a faster rate T_T So I don't mind losing them for all I care.
